1. Check if you can apply
You can get help for situations like:
- Paying rent
- Paying a security deposit
- Buying a wheelchair or other medical equipment you could not otherwise afford
You can apply if you are any of the following:
- Low or moderate income, with children under 18
- 55 years old and over
- Adults with disabilities
- Veterans
- Survivors of domestic violence
- Pregnant in your second or third trimester
- Former foster youth, 18 to 24 years old
2. Apply with referral organizations
For everyone:

For families with children under 18:

About the fund
The Chronicle Season of Sharing Fund provides temporary assistance to help people living in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties. In addition to Housing and Critical Family Needs assistance, the Chronicle Season of Sharing Fund provides support to Bay Area food banks to purchase food.
