About the ADA Coordinator Review

Understand the architectural access review for your projects in San Francisco.

Who needs to comply

You must follow the architectural access standards if you have City-owned or City-funded construction projects (City Projects).

Who reviews the projects

City Projects must be reviewed by one of these departments:

  • The Mayor’s Office on Disability (MOD)
  • The Department of Public Works (DPW)

DPW reviews projects designed, managed, or built by DPW. MOD reviews the rest, including publicly funded affordable housing. MOD charges plan check fees for our review service. You can find the fee schedule on the Project Intake Form

The Port and the Airport have their own ADA reviews for projects under their jurisdiction.

How to get your projects reviewed

If you have a MOD project for the first time, you may not be prepared for our requirements.

Follow this step-by-step guide to get your projects reviewed for accessibility.
