Make a reservation for an in-person ceremony with 6 or fewer guests. Walk-ins are not allowed. A civil marriage ceremony may only be performed for 2 unmarried persons who present a valid original California marriage license prior to the ceremony.

Friday, February 13, 2026 - "Lucky 13" Special Wedding Event
The San Francisco Office of the County Clerk is rolling out the red carpet for love, turning Friday the 13th into a lucky charm for lifelong commitment. Couples from all over the world will gather to exchange vows amid love, cheers, and the stunning backdrop of City Hall’s Beaux-Arts splendor.
Details:
- By Appointment Only (over 200 appointment slots!)
- Marriage License - couples must have a valid San Francisco Marriage License prior to event day
- Maximum SIX (6) guests total
- Ceremonies will be conducted throughout City Hall
- Free photo booth for couples and their guests
- Officiant will be provided

3. Bring your marriage license
Bring your original government-issued marriage license on the day of your ceremony. They will not be available for purchase on the same day as your ceremony.
4. Arrive on your ceremony day
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment.
Be prepared for your civil ceremony appointment with the following:
- Valid, authentic, legal government-issued photo identification for each person
- A valid, unexpired, marriage license issued by a California County. Photocopies are not acceptable.
- 1 witness if you are presenting a public marriage license.
- No witness is required if presenting a confidential marriage license.
