What to do
1. Eligibility
You can get help at a workshop if you:
-
Have had a Green Card for at least 5 years (or at least 3 years if married to a citizen)
-
Are 18 and over
-
Have all your documents and information for your application.
In-person workshops have been suspended during the Shelter-In-Place order. For help at this time, call one of the multilingual hotlines listed on this page.
Virtual workshops are available if you start your citizenship application online. We will contact you if you qualify.
2. Get help paying your application fee
If you are on public benefits, you may qualify for a fee waiver from US Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS). We can help you fill it out.
If you do not qualify for the fee waiver, you can still get a zero-interest loan to cover some or all of the application fee.
We know becoming a citizen provides many benefits and increased opportunities for immigrants. OCEIA and the San Francisco Pathways to Citizenship Initiative helps immigrants navigate the process.
