The San Francisco Arts Commission acknowledges that we are on the unceded ancestral homeland of the Ramaytush Ohlone who are the original inhabitants of the San Francisco Peninsula. As the indigenous stewards of this land and in accordance with their traditions, the Ramaytush Ohlone have never ceded, lost nor forgotten their responsibilities as the caretakers of this place, as well as for all peoples who reside in their traditional territory. As guests, we recognize that we benefit from living and working on their traditional homeland. We wish to pay our respects by acknowledging the ancestors, elders and relatives of the Ramaytush Community and by affirming their sovereign rights as First Peoples. - Motion to approve "Untitled," a mural design by Tera Yoshimura. The mural will be installed at in front of Bar Iris/Restaurant Nisei at 2316 Polk St. in District 3. The mural measures approximately 8 ft. tall by 44 ft. wide. The artwork is funded by a Shared Spaces Arts and Culture Grant and will not become part of the Civic Art Collection.
- Motion to approve "Hands of Unity" and "Flourishing Together," two mural designs by Strider Patton. The mural will be installed at 544 Golden Gate Ave. in District 5. The murals measure approximately 30 ft. tall by 70ft. wide and 15 ft. tall by 30ft. wide, respectively. The artwork is funded by a Shared Spaces Arts and Culture Grant and will not become part of the Civic Art Collection.
- Motion to approve "Sanctuary," a mural design by Nikila Badua. The mural will be installed at 154 7th St. in District 6. The mural measure approximately 22 ft. tall by 44 ft. wide. The artwork is funded by a MOHCD and will not become part of the Civic Art Collection.
- Motion to retroactively approve and accept into the Civic Art Collection 2019.35, "Flow," 2019, ceramic enamel on glass, approximately H18 ft. x W146 1/2 ft. by Bernadette Jiyong Frank. The artwork spans the east curtain wall of San Francisco Fire Department, Fire Station #5 at Webster and Turk Streets. The artwork was approved as installed under Res. No. 0805-19-201.
- Motion to retroactively approve and accept into the Civic Art Collection 2023.05, "Serving the City," 2022, twenty-one cut and painted steel panels, approximately 10 ft. high by 114-½ ft. wide, by Michael Bartalos. The artwork is installed on the Jerrold Avenue entrance and the McKinnon Avenue exit of the Ambulance Deployment Facility, Fire Station #49, 2241 Jerrold Avenue. The artwork was approved as installed under Res. No. 0403-23-060.
- Motion to retroactively approve and accept into the Civic Art Collection 2020.13.a-f, "Islais," 2018, Bronze with patina and stainless-steel rods on a cement pad with LED lighting, H216 x W96 x D146 in., by Cliff Garten. The artwork is installed at the intersection of Third Street and Arthur Avenue in the Bayview. It was approved as installed under Res. No. 0709-18-232.
- Motion to retroactively approve and accept into the Civic Art Collection 2021.05.a-j, "A Celebration of Interspecies Friendships," 2021, Digital acrylic print on birch plywood, acrylic interior paint, and Vitreous enamel on glass by Faviana Rodriguez. The exterior glass artwork measures H38 3/32 in. x W108"in. and the interior wood artworks measure between H3-5 ft. x W3-5 ft. The artwork is installed at the exterior of the front entrance, the interior intake room and the interior lobby area at Animal Care & Control, 1419 Bryant Street. The artwork was approved as installed under Res. No. 0405-21-077.
- Motion to retroactively approve and accept into the Civic Art Collection 2023.06, "Traveler," 2022, Mixed media on Arches Paper 140lb, H71 in. x W51 in. by Adrian Arias. The artwork is installed in the Community Room at the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, Alameda Creek Watershed Center, 505 Paloma in Sunol. The artwork was approved as purchased under Res. No. 0207-22-043 and approved as installed Res. No. 0911-23-161.
- Motion to retroactively approve and accept into the Civic Art Collection 2023.07, "Rúupaywa: Songs of the Watershed," 2022, painted Steel tubing, glass panels; sound installation; archive, H120 in. x W216 in. x D216 in., by Walter Kitundu. The artwork is installed in the garden plaza at the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, Alameda Creek Watershed Center, 505 Paloma in Sunol. The artwork was approved as installed under Res. No. 0911-23-160.
- Motion to retroactively approve and accept into the Civic Art Collection 2020.09, "Geologic Ghost," 2020, waterjet cut steel, H103 in. x W594 in. by Adriane Colburn. The artwork is installed at Recreation & Park Department’s Guy Place Mini Park, 4-8 Guy Place. The artwork was approved as installed under Res. No. 1005-20-163.
- Motion to retroactively approve and accept into the Civic Art Collection 2016.30, "Jack's City (Peephole Cinema Project)," 2016, single channel digital video, 01:10 minutes, by Laurie O’Brien. The artwork was previously installed at the San Francisco International Airport, Terminal 1, Temporary Boarding Area C and was approved as installed under Res. No. 0912-16-264.
- Motion to retroactively approve and accept into the Civic Art Collection 2016.29, "Emilia the Typist (Peephole Cinema Project)," 2016, single channel digital video, 01:58 minutes, by Laurie O’Brien. The artwork was previously installed at the San Francisco International Airport, Terminal 1, Temporary Boarding Area C and was approved as installed under Res. No. 0912-16-264.
- Motion to retroactively approve and accept into the Civic Art Collection 2016.31, "ABC of Travel (Peephole Cinema Project)," 2016, single channel digital video, 02:00 minutes, by Signe Baumane. The artwork was previously installed at the San Francisco International Airport, Terminal 1, Temporary Boarding Area C and was approved as installed under Res. No. 0912-16-264.
- Motion to retroactively approve and accept into the Civic Art Collection 2016.32, "The Purpose of Travel (Peephole Cinema Project)," 2016, single channel digital video, 01:10 minutes, by Signe Baumane. The artwork was previously installed at the San Francisco International Airport, Terminal 1, Temporary Boarding Area C and was approved as installed under Res. No. 0912-16-264.

The artwork was previously installed at the San Francisco International Airport, Terminal 1, Temporary Boarding Area C and was approved as installed under Res. No. 0912-16-264.
- Motion to retroactively approve and accept into the Civic Art Collection 2024.02, "Fog Lilies," 2024, Silicated based Mineral paint, H124 in. x W2645 in. by Jet Martinez. The artwork is installed on the North, West and South sides of the exterior façade of the Public Utilities Commission, Westside Pump Station on the corner of the Great Highway and Sloat Blvd. The artwork was approved as installed Res. No. 0701-24-305.
- Motion to amend RESOLUTION NO. 0802-21-182 to include an extra 4 stairs, for a total of 63 stairs, in Steps to Wisdom, a mosaic design by artist Phillip Hua.
- Motion to amend RESOLUTION NO. 0906-24-388 to increase the not to exceed amount so that the revised motion reads: Motion to authorize the Director of Cultural Affairs to enter into contract with ARG Conservation Services, Inc. for an amount not to exceed $2,000,000 for as-needed fine art services, including conservation of various large-scale artworks in the Civic Art Collection.

Public comment
Public comments are accepted in person at all San Francisco Arts Commission public meetings. Remote public comment is available for those who require an ADA accommodation. Please reach out to art-info@sfgov.org or by calling 415-252-2247 with any questions or to make an accommodation request. We request at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting, pursuant to Administrative Code Section 97.7. Late requests will be honored if possible. For meetings scheduled on Mondays, please submit requests by 4:00 p.m. the previous Friday.
Public comment in regard to specific agenda items will be taken before or during consideration of the item. Each speaker may speak for up to three minutes per agenda item, unless the Chair has announced a different length of time at the beginning of the meeting. Speakers may not transfer their time to another person. Any person speaking during a public comment period may supply a written summary of their comments to be included in the minutes if it is 150 words or less.
Persons attending the meeting and those unable to attend may also submit written comments of 150 words or less regarding specific agenda items or general public comment regarding items under the purview of the Arts Commission. Written comments submitted to and received by Arts Commission staff by 5:00 p.m. before the date of the meeting, or received within 10 days after a public meeting, will be brought to the attention of the commission and made part of the official public record. 1. Agenda items will normally be heard in order. Please note, that on occasion a special circumstance may necessitate that an agenda item be taken out of order. To ensure that an agenda item is not missed, it is advised to arrive at the beginning of the meeting. All agenda changes will be announced by the Chair at the top of the meeting.
2. Public comment will be taken before or during the Committee’s consideration of each agenda item. Each speaker will be allowed to speak for the time allotted by the Chair at the top of the meeting for up to three (3) minutes.
3. During General Public Comment, members of the public may address the Commissioners on matters that are within the Arts Commission’s jurisdiction and are not on the agenda.

Wheelchair-accessible entrances
Wheelchair-accessible entrances are located on Van Ness Avenue and Grove Street. Please note the wheelchair lift at the Goodlett Place/Polk Street is temporarily not available. After multiple repairs that were followed by additional breakdowns, the wheelchair lift at the Goodlett/Polk entrance is being replaced for improved operation and reliability. We anticipate having a functioning lift after the completion of construction in May 2025. There are elevators and accessible restrooms located on every floor.
