Explanatory Document: January 2023 Director’s Report
- Updated Commission Bylaws
The Commission will discuss and possibly adopt amended Bylaws governing the Commission on the Status of Women. Changes include: uniform reference to “Commissioners” and the Commission “President”; the addition of language regarding Parental Leave Policy, meeting cancellations and remote speakers; clarification of the Department Director’s ability to nominate officers and assign a Commissioner to preside over a meeting in the event of the absence, or inability to act, of the President and Vice President; and the shortening of required advance notice of proposed amendments to bylaws to ten days.

- Updated Mission & Vision Statements
The Commission will discuss and possibly adopt updated Mission & Vision Statements for the Commission, which more specifically emphasizes equitable treatment and advancement of women, girls and nonbinary people across social, economic and political indexes.
