Bar Association of San Francisco

The Office of Cannabis partners with the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS) and BASF’s Cannabis Law Section to provide San Francisco’s equity applicants with free legal services, including contract review, permitting guidance, and compliance review.

The Law Offices of Matthew Kumin

The OOC partners with the Office of Economic Workforce Development and the Law Offices of Matthew Kumin to provide technical assistance to verified equity applicants.

Free technical assistance includes: legal services, regulatory compliance, cannabis business permit support, and one-on-one consultations. To get started, email Richard Jordan at richard.jordan@law.unh.edu and Shivanjali Naicker at shivanjali@mattkuminlaw.com.

Golden Gate University Cannabis Law Clinic

The OOC partners with Golden Gate Law School's Cannabis Law Clinic (CLC) to provide verified equity applicants with free legal services. Areas of CLC support may include (i) expungements; (ii) permitting; (iii) contract review; (iv) compliance; and (v) intellectual property.

Prospective equity applicants seeking to get verified may also contact CLC for support.

Success Centers' "Equity for Industry" programs were created to provide marginalized community members with professional development, job readiness training, and career opportunities in the cannabis industry. Working closely with affected communities, organizations, and cannabis industry leaders, their programs are designed to provide equitable access to resources, opportunities to build skills, and knowledge-based disciplines to secure careers and business ownership in the cannabis industry.

Treeline Security is a certified LBE, woman-owned company servicing the San Francisco Bay Area with expertise covering all industries, events, property, and personal protection. Their staff is comprised of retired law enforcement, active military, and event management consultants. Treeline Security can provide assistance to Equity Applicants in consulting, education, and training related to best security practices in the cannabis industry. Security services available include: security plan support (e.g. premise diagram, surveillance systems, camera placements), activity-specific operation plan support (e.g. delivery, cultivation), and assistance limiting youth access and exposure (e.g. verifying identification).
