File an action request for an MTA service-critical staff hearing

MTA staff: An action request allows you to postpone or cancel an upcoming Civil Service Commission hearing. It may also be used if the appeal is resolved administratively.

What to do

This process only applies to appeals and requests from Municipal Transportation Agency (MTA) employees who are classified as service-critical. For all other employees, you need to follow a different process: File an action request on a pending Civil Service Commission appeal.

1. Decide what you want the Commission to do

For example, you may want to cancel the hearing and close the file if the:

  • Matter can't be appealed
  • Appeal isn't timely
  • Problem has already been resolved internally and there's no need for a hearing

You may want to postpone and reschedule the hearing if:

  • There's a scheduling problem or the date isn't reasonable

3. Gather any documents that support your request (optional)

If you want to close the case, provide documents that will help us understand why.

4. Bring the appeal and related documents to our office
