Approval of the regular February Meeting Minutes
The Commission will review and possibly approve minutes from the regular Commission meeting on February 11, 2026.
New Business
A. RECOGNITION OF FREEDOM BRAIDERS AND YOUNG WOMEN’S FREEDOM CENTER
Discussion
The Commission will formally recognize Freedom Braiders and the Young Women's Freedom Center for their contributions to empowering justice-impacted women and fostering safe, healing-centered spaces that support their growth, confidence, and independence.
B. DOSW WOMEN’S AGENDA UPDATE
Discussion
Executive Director Aroche will provide a brief update on the finalized FY 26-28 Strategic Plan, adopted by the Mayor as the City’s official Women’s Agenda.
C. CONSIDERATION OF BYLAWS REVISIONS
Discussion and Possible Action
Vice President Rivera will provide an overview of the potential bylaw revisions under consideration, including possible changes to COSW officer term limits, the number of public meetings held by COSW each year, and clarification regarding the scope of “select” committees, among other possible amendments. The Commission will discuss and possibly vote on whether to make official revisions.
Possible Action: To vote on the proposed revisions to the bylaws.
Prop E Commission Streamlining Task Force Committee
Discussion
Commissioner Andary will provide a brief update on the Board of Supervisors hearing held on March 17, where they discussed the Commission Streamlining Task Force recommendations.
Director's Report
Executive Director Diana Aroche may discuss grant programs; core service area activities; meetings involving City leaders, agencies, and stakeholders; Department staff; past/upcoming events; and/or Department operations.
Commissioner Update
Discussion
Vice President Rivera will provide an update on the Women’s History Month Event. Commissioners may provide updates on topics related to COSW’s priorities.
In Memoriam: Andrea Shorter
The Commission will honor Andrea Shorter, who served as a Commissioner on the San Francisco Commission on the Status of Women from 2001 to 2021. She is being remembered for her dedication as a community leader and passionate advocate for women and LGBTQ+ communities.
