Apply to become a DreamSF fellow

The DreamSF Fellowship is a paid leadership and civic engagement program for immigrant youth. Apply in spring each year.

What to do

Eligibility

You can apply if you are:

  • over 18
  • live in the Bay Area
  • available 20 hours a week
  • available from 9 am to 12 pm every Friday

You also need to go to a 2 or 4 year college. You must either:

  • Be currently enrolled
  • Planning to enroll
  • Or have recently graduated 

You can apply regardless of your immigration status. 

What you will need

1. Essays

To apply you will need 3 essays of about 500 words (about 1/2 a page typed) each. 

Essay topics are about: 

  1. You professional goals
  2. Your connection to immigrant communities
  3. An example of your personal growth and development 

2. Your Resume

You will need to upload a copy of your resume (or CV) to the application. Your school's career center can help you write a resume.

What happens after you apply

We will email you about your application in May.

if you are selected as a semi-finalist you will have a group and individual interview.

If you are selected for the fellowship, you will start at the beginning of June 2019.

Why do we offer fellowships to immigrants?

The DreamSF Fellowship supports young immigrant professionals by partnering with organizations that help San Francisco's immigrant community.
