Submit your plan to start a mobile food facility

Before you get a permit for a mobile food facility, the health department must review and approve your plans.

What to do

To meet the law in California, you need to get your plan checked when your food truck or cart is brand new, will be remodeled, or has not yet operated in San Francisco.

1. Gather needed information

When you send in your plan, you will need to include information on:

  • The type of mobile food facility you have
  • All foods you plan to serve (your menu)
  • How, where, and when food will be prepared
  • Floor plans drawn to scale (schematic diagrams)

Get an overview of what you need to submit.

2. Download and fill out the form

We will check your plan for your food truck or cart.
