Secondhand smoke is especially dangerous for babies, children, pregnant people, elderly people, and people with disabilities. Secondhand smoke can travel from one room or unit to another through doors, cracks in walls, electrical lines, ventilation systems and plumbing.

About

Currently there is NO local, state or federal law that bans smoking inside individual homes or units in multi-unit housing. Although there is no local, state, or federal law, there are buildings/units in SF that are smoke free. If you are interested in knowing if your building/unit has a voluntary smoke free policy, connect with the landlord, or building owner.
