When refinancing a 1st mortgage on a MOHCD-sponsored property, you must follow MOHCD subordination policies.
For MOHCD program homeowners who want to change the title of their home.
If you received financial assistance through MOHCD-sponsored programs, your home insurance policy must include MOHCD as an "additional insured" or "loss payee" on the declarations page.
MOHCD encourages homeowners to maintain the quality of their home under Below Market Rate (BMR), City Second loan programs (CSLP) and San Francisco Redevelopment Agency (SFRA) programs.
For homeowners using certain loan programs such as TND, PIC, and some City Second loans
When a Below Market Rate (BMR) homeowner desires to sell their BMR unit, they are required to ensure the unit is in a good and clean condition for the subsequent owner.
Annual monitoring for MOHCD program owners
For all programs, we will ask for proof every year that everyone listed on the title lives at the home. You are not allowed to rent out your home on platforms like Airbnb. You can still live in your unit after your income increases. Be sure to read the manual for your specific homebuyer program. We will ask for proof that all the rules are being followed.
