Profile
Anne Taupier
Executive Director

In June 2025, Anne Taupier was appointed by Mayor Daniel Lurie to serve as Executive Director of the Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD), where she leads San Francisco’s economic strategy—advancing workforce opportunity, supporting small businesses, driving downtown recovery, and championing cultural vitality. Previously, as OEWD’s Director of Development, she oversaw major public‑private mixed‑use and housing projects, negotiated high‑impact community benefits agreements, and helped shape key housing and economic policies, including efforts to streamline housing production, convert underutilized commercial buildings to residential use, and strengthen economic corridors. Since 2009, Anne has contributed to some of the city’s most transformative development efforts, expected to bring more than 30,000 new homes to San Francisco. She holds degrees from the University of Massachusetts, co‑founded The Kerouac Corporation to support youth arts and writing, is active with ULI and the Lambda Alpha Institute, and was recognized in 2026 as one of the San Francisco Business Times’ Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business.
Public service is a core value for Anne. With more than 25 years in city government, she leads with collaboration, clarity, and a commitment to results that strengthen communities—bringing partners together, removing barriers, and driving solutions across housing, economic development, and workforce opportunity. A lifelong trail runner, former competitive cyclist, and two‑time Ironman finisher, she also champions programs that empower girls and young women through sports, movement, and creative expression.
