Paul Bendix
Council Member

Paul Bendix was born in the windblown desert town of Banning, California. At 21, walking home from the UC Berkeley library, he was mugged, shot, and permanently paralyzed. He has an MA in creative writing from San Francisco State University and is proud to have published an article in Salon.com in the wake of the Sandy Hook school shooting.
Paul is a disabled advocate for passenger rail, frequently volunteering with the Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund. Paul is also on the TransBay Joint Powers Board (Transit Center) Citizens Advisory Committee, and has written about transit for the San Francisco Chronicle, as well as the San Francisco Examiner.
