1. Start your day with a coffee and pastry from one of so many coffee shops and bakeries.

  • The flagship location of Ritual Coffee for the beans roasted onsite
  • Craftsman & Wolves for beautiful pastries - starting with “The Rebel Within” muffin with a surprise molten egg inside but extending to beautiful patisserie
  • The spacious inside-and-out Four Barrel coffee shop
  • The breakfast sandwiches at Breakfast Little are also an amazing way to wake up!

2. Get your boba fix before walking around and doing your retail therapy.

3. Go browse and buy some beautiful things for you and others.

4. Go shopping for or with the kids, and then take them to the playground, pool or library to unwind!

  • Natural Resources is a nonprofit with a beautiful shop that serves expecting and new families
  • The Mission Playground has water features on a hot day, a sand playground perfect for big and little kids, and it's right next to Mission Pool!
  • If you can walk a few blocks to Dolores Park the brand new renovated playground has hours more of fun!
  • And stop by the new Mission Branch library to pick up new books

9. Get engaged with your city and find community at Manny’s, SF’s Town Hall.

  • Manny’s hosts events nearly every day (disco trash pickup, meet your elected officials, moderated discussions on everything under the sun), and during the day is the perfect place to sit and work/meet people while enjoying coffee/tea/brunch and lunch options and wine/beer.

10. Enjoy some live music or a show!

  • Check out the amazing lineup of live music, standup and other performances at The Chapel
  • Catch a theater show at the Marsh or small independent performances at Stage Werx
  • Stop by the Roxie Theater for a curated program of eclectic movie showings and delicious popcorn

Getting to Valencia St.

BART regional trains have subway stops at Mission and 16th Street and Mission and 24th Street, both one block off of Valencia St. SF Muni features ten or more bus lines running through the neighborhood, as well as the J-Church light rail line that runs along the western edge of the Mission District.

Valencia St. is a main corridor in the Mission District, which is southeast of downtown San Francisco in one of the sunniest parts of the City. Valencia St. is a trendy hub, full of bistros and boutiques. 7x7 Magazine describes it as "the modern hub of San Francisco's vibrant Mission District, Valencia Street is home to some of the city's hottest destination eateries, funky independent shops, most crowded watering holes, and eye-popping murals."
