Advance equity with trans and LGBT communities.
September 12, 2019

The Office of Transgender Initiatives is the first and only trans-led city government office in the country working with communities to advance policies, programs, and equity for transgender, gender nonconforming, (TGNC) and LGBTQ San Franciscans.

We are looking for energetic, motivated, and mission-driven individuals to join our team and advance equity for TGNC and LGBTQ communities.

We are currently hiring for a Training Officer who will work on training programs and events for diversity and inclusion of TGNC and LGBTQ communities for the City & County of San Francisco. We are looking for an individual with a deep understanding and experience with issues affecting transgender, gender nonconforming, and LGBTQ communities. We particularly seeking an experienced trainer with an anti-oppression lens and experience working with underserved transgender populations such as youth, TGNC people of color, immigrants, formerly and currently incarcerated people, among others.

We are also looking for energetic and motivated individuals to join us for a part time, paid internship to support our communications and civic engagement efforts. This is an exciting opportunity if you are interested in gaining experience in a government setting, and have a background in social media and outreach skills. This will be an opportunity to utilize your strong written and verbal communications skills with a racial justice and anti-oppression lens to engage TGNC communities, especially low-income communities and communities of color.
