Mayor Lurie Announces HumanX AI Conference Coming To San Francisco
In Virtual Address to Inaugural Edition, Mayor Lurie Shares Conference Will Bring Global AI Leaders to Moscone Convention Center in April 2026; San Francisco Continues to Cement Itself as Global Hub of Growing AI Industry, With OpenAI Expanding in Mission Bay and Databricks Investing $1 Billion in City; Conferences at Moscone Center Are Projected to Generate $600 Million in Economic Impact for San Francisco in 2025
SAN FRANCISCO – Mayor Daniel Lurie announced today that the second edition of HumanX, a conference that brings together leaders and innovators in the AI industry, will take place in San Francisco, April 7-9, 2026. Mayor Lurie virtually addressed the conference’s debut edition, which has convened over 3,000 attendees in Las Vegas.
The conference’s move to San Francisco represents another marker of the city’s status as a global AI leader. Yesterday, OpenAI announced a major office expansion in Mission Bay, welcoming thousands of new employees and surpassing 1 million square feet of office space in the city. And last week, Databricks announced plans to invest $1 billion in the city with a new, larger headquarters downtown, while keeping its annual Data + AI Summit in San Francisco through 2030.
“San Francisco has always been at the forefront of innovation, and today, AI is truly driving the future. Our city is cementing itself once again as a global hub for technology, and that’s why I am thrilled to announce that HumanX 2026 will be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco,” said Mayor Lurie. “My administration is committed to safe and clean streets for residents and visitors alike and making sure the world knows San Francisco is open for business.”
Under Mayor Lurie, the city has also developed a proven track record of welcoming large events. This year’s JP Morgan Healthcare Conference was so successful that it will return to San Francisco next year. And the Chinese New Year Parade — which took place the same weekend as the NBA All-Star festivities, bringing hundreds of thousands of people and hundreds of millions of dollars to San Francisco — was the safest on record, with a 30% drop in crime from last year.
Other major conferences have also recently reaffirmed their commitment to San Francisco, including Dreamforce, the Winter FancyFaire, and Microsoft Ignite, which will make its San Francisco debut later this year. San Francisco’s convention business is on track for significant growth in 2025, with 32 confirmed events at Moscone Center that are expected to generate roughly $600 million in direct spending in the local economy. As major events, industry leaders, and innovators continue to choose San Francisco, the city is solidifying its status as a top-tier destination for industry gatherings and tourism.
“We’re thrilled that HumanX has chosen San Francisco and Moscone Center for its next conference. This is yet another strong signal that San Francisco’s convention calendar is rebounding, with leading organizations recognizing the city’s unparalleled hospitality, innovation, and world-class meeting facilities,” said San Francisco Travel Association President and CEO Anna Marie Presutti. “We look forward to welcoming HumanX attendees and showcasing everything that makes San Francisco an exceptional event destination.”
HumanX 2026 will continue to build on the success of its debut with more than 3,000 attendees and 300 speakers, bringing together AI’s brightest minds — from visionary founders and top researchers to policymakers and industry leaders — offering unparalleled insights into the future of artificial intelligence. With San Francisco at the heart of the AI revolution, the relocation positions HumanX at the epicenter of cutting-edge innovation, fostering deeper collaboration and engagement with the global AI community.
“AI is evolving at an unprecedented pace, and so is HumanX,” said Stefan Weitz, co-founder and CEO at HumanX. “By bringing the event to San Francisco, we’re immersing attendees in the very ecosystem that’s defining the next generation of AI breakthroughs.”
HumanX 2026 will feature thought-provoking discussions, hands-on demos, and exclusive networking opportunities, cementing its status as a must-attend event for anyone shaping the future of AI. For more information and early registration details, visit www.humanx.co.
