Attention Downtown Streets Employees and Volunteers
Downtown Streets has reached an agreement with OLSE to provide restitution/compensation to affected workers for violations. If you worked as an employee or volunteer in San Francisco during the period from January 1, 2019, to December 31, 2021, you may be eligible for compensation.
The Office of Labor Standards Enforcement (OLSE) investigated Downtown Streets for violations of the Minimum Compensation Ordinance (MCO) and Health Care Security Ordinance (HCSO) that occurred during the period of January 1, 2019 - December 31, 2021.
Downtown Streets has reached an agreement with OLSE to provide restitution/compensation to the affected workers for these violations. As a result, Downtown Streets is on a payment plan that will end on August 1, 2030. The workers on this Final List of Workers document will be eligible to receive restitution/compensation.
The specific amount each worker will receive differs from worker to worker and is based upon the number of hours worked during January 1, 2019 - December 31, 2021.
Please note that the amount and estimated distribution is based upon Downtown Streets making consistent and timely payments. However, OLSE does not have control of this. If Downtown Streets makes payments late, the timing of restitution/compensation to individuals may change. If Downtown Streets fails to make all required payments, then the payment amounts may also adjust.

Once we receive your information, we will contact you with the amount you are scheduled to receive. Please remember that Downtown Streets is on an 8-year payment plan. Therefore, your payment(s) may span over all 8 years. If you do not contact us with the information needed, you will not be able to get compensation.
Woker name is NOT on the list
If your name is not on the list, then you are not included in this settlement, and you will not get restitution or compensation. OLSE worked with Downtown Streets for years to ensure that everyone who worked during January 1, 2019- December 31, 2021, was reviewed. Once a settlement was reached, OLSE used this information to determine who is owed restitution. This means that some people did work during this time period but based upon how much they worked, they are not included in the settlement and will not receive restitution. The list is final, and you cannot appeal the information.
For amounts $600 or more
If your compensation amount totals $600 or more in a calendar year, you are required to fill out an IRS W-9 form to report the compensation amount to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This requirement cannot be waived. Fill out the form and return all necessary information to OLSE to receive your check.
