    As authorized by California Government Code Section 54953(e) and the Mayor’s 45th Supplement to her February 25, 2020 emergency proclamation, this meeting will be held remotely without providing a physical location.       The San Francisco Arts Commission acknowledges that we are on the unceded ancestral homeland of the Ramaytush Ohlone who are the original inhabitants of the San Francisco Peninsula. As the indigenous stewards of this land and in accordance with their traditions, the Ramaytush Ohlone have never ceded, lost nor forgotten their responsibilities as the caretakers of this place, as well as for all peoples who reside in their traditional territory. As guests, we recognize that we benefit from living and working on their traditional homeland. We wish to pay our respects by acknowledging the ancestors, elders and relatives of the Ramaytush Community and by affirming their sovereign rights as First Peoples. As a department dedicated to promoting a diverse and equitable Arts and Culture environment in San Francisco, we are committed to supporting the traditional and contemporary evolution of the American Indian community.

    3. Arts Impact Endowment - First Time Grantee Initiative Grants

      Discussion and possible action to approve an additional funding recommendation of the Arts Impact Endowment - First Time Grantee Initiative, Space/Capital Support to award one (1) grant to San Francisco Art Book Fair LLC, funded by the FY21 Arts Impact Endowment in accordance with the priorities outlined in the Community Services Allocation Plan; and to authorize the Director of Cultural Affairs to enter into a grant agreement not to exceed $50,000 at this time.

    4. Special Project Grants

      Discussion and possible action approve recommendations to award seven (7) Special Project Grants, funded by District Supervisor Add-Backs to the following organizations and to authorize the Director of Cultural Affairs to enter into grant agreements with each organization for amounts not to exceed the following at this time.

       

      i. District 5 – Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Historical Society, $62,250 over one year to support a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ) History Project in the Mid-Market/Tenderloin neighborhood.



      ii. District 5 - Mission Art 415, Inc., $75,000 over one year to support Murals and arts-related events in Fillmore, Hayes Valley, and Tenderloin neighborhoods.



      iii. District 7 – Michael Ritch, $24,950 over one year to support Utility Box Mural Installation and Repair along Ocean Avenue and neighboring streets.



      iv. District 8 - Eureka Valley Neighborhood Association (Fiscal Sponsor: Castro Upper Market Community Benefit District Inc.) $25,000 over one year to support Mural Restoration.



      v. District 9 – Galeria Studio 24, $300,000 over two years to support an Arts Fellow Program in the Mission District including the hiring of four (4) four fellows to develop a partnership with the San Francisco Latino Parity and Equity Coalition and the Latino Task Force Coalition.



      vi. Citywide Maya Angelou Celebration - African American Shakespeare Company, $50,000 over one year to support free community events commemorating Maya Angelou.



      vii. Citywide Maya Angelou Celebration – Youth Speaks Inc., $50,000 over one year to support free community events commemorating Maya Angelou.

    5. Commissioner Site Visits to Cultural Centers

      Commissioners report on site visits to SOMArts Cultural Center and subgrantee, Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center (a virtual center), Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts and Queer Cultural Center (a virtual center).

Each speaker may speak for up to three minutes per agenda item, unless the Chair has announced a different length of time at the beginning of the meeting. Speakers may not transfer their time to another person.     1. Agenda items will normally be heard in order. Please note, that on occasion a special circumstance may necessitate that an agenda item be taken out of order. To ensure that an agenda item is not missed, it is advised to arrive at the beginning of the meeting. All agenda changes will be announced by the Chair at the top of the meeting. 

    2. Public comment will be taken before or during the Committee’s consideration of each agenda item. Each speaker will be allowed to speak for the time allotted by the Chair at the top of the meeting or up to three (3) minutes.  

    3. During General Public Comment, members of the public may address the Commissioners on matters that are within the Arts Commission’s jurisdiction and are not on the agenda.

    Individuals and entities that influence or attempt to influence local legislative or administrative action may be required by the San Francisco Lobbyist Ordinance (San Francisco Campaign and Governmental Conduct Code sections 2.100-2.160) to register and report lobbying activity.
