      The San Francisco Arts Commission acknowledges that we are on the unceded ancestral homeland of the Ramaytush Ohlone who are the original inhabitants of the San Francisco Peninsula. As the indigenous stewards of this land and in accordance with their traditions, the Ramaytush Ohlone have never ceded, lost nor forgotten their responsibilities as the caretakers of this place, as well as for all peoples who reside in their traditional territory. As guests, we recognize that we benefit from living and working on their traditional homeland. We wish to pay our respects by acknowledging the ancestors, elders and relatives of the Ramaytush Community and by affirming their sovereign rights as First Peoples. As a department dedicated to promoting a diverse and equitable Arts and Culture environment in San Francisco, we are committed to supporting the traditional and contemporary evolution of the American Indian community.

      4. Motion to approve "The Portola, East Meets West," a mural design by Arthur Koch. The mural will be installed at 99 Burrows St. at San Bruno Ave. in District 9. The mural measures approximately 8 ft. tall by 20 ft. wide. The artwork is by a San Francisco Artists Grant (SFA) and will not become part of the Civic Art Collection. 
         
      5. Motion to approve "Street Mural on Page," a mural design by Matley Hurd. The mural will be installed on Page St. between Central Ave. and Masonic Ave. in District 5. The mural measures approximately 52 ft. long by 21 ft. wide. The artwork is funded by a Community Challenge Grant and will not become part of the Civic Art Collection.
         
      6. Motion to approve "A Slice of Inner Sunset," a mural design by Robert Louthan. The mural will be installed on 654 Irving St. at 8th Ave. in District 7. The mural measures approximately 17 ½ ft. high by 46 ft. wide. The artwork is funded by District 7 Participatory Budget Funds and will not become part of the Civic Art Collection. 
         
      7. Motion to amend Resolution #0701-24-298 to approve an allocation of up to $100,000 from the Public Art Trust’s Undesignated Funds for costs associated with the display of the Shahzia Sikander sculpture titled "Witness," which will be displayed in Civic Center Plaza for a period of up to seven months starting in late October 2024.

Motion to retroactively approve and accept into the Civic Art Collection 2020.11, "The Moon’s Gravity Causes the Ocean’s Tides," 2020, powdered coated aluminum and steel, H35 ft. x W16 ft. by Sarah Sze. The artwork is installed at 49 South Van Ness Avenue, Atrium Lobby. The artwork was approved as installed under Res. No. 1005-20-165. 
          
      9. Motion to retroactively approve and accept into the Civic Art Collection 2020.12.a-f, "Sea + Sky," 2020, dye-sublimated aluminum panel, H96 in. x W298 in., by Meghann Riepenhoff. The artwork is installed at 49 South Van Ness Avenue, Floor 1, Prefunction Gallery Wall. The artwork was approved as installed under Res. No.1005-20-164.

      12. Motion to retroactively approve and accept into the Civic Art Collection 2022.64, "The In Crowd," 2001, acrylic on wood, H48 in. x W40 in. by Ira Watkins. The artwork is installed at the Southeast Community Center, 1550 Evans Avenue, 2nd Floor. The artwork was approved as purchased under Res. No. 0913-21-212 and approved as installed Res. Motion for the Director of Cultural Affairs to approve a curator honorarium in the amount of $3000 to PhotoAlliance for their participation in the development of the 2025 SFAC Galleries City Hall exhibition, "Metaphors of Recent Times: A Dialogue of the Personal, the Political and Cultural," on view January 16 – June 13, 2025.   
      53. Motion for the Director of Cultural Affairs to approve a curator honorarium in the amount of $2000 to Beth Davila Waldman for their participation in the development of the 2025 SFAC Galleries City Hall exhibition, "Metaphors of Recent Times: A Dialogue of the Personal, the Political and Cultural," on view January 16 – June 13, 2025.   

      54. Motion to approve "Surf, Rock, Skate, Roll and Read" by Susie Lundy for the Fulton Street Activations Public Art Project, as recommended by a review panel comprised of SFAC and SFPL staff. 

      55. Motion to authorize the Director of Cultural Affairs to enter into a contract with Susie Lundy for an amount not to exceed $57,500 for a series of youth and community focused activations and culminating event for the Fulton Street Activations Public Art Project anticipated to take place in Spring 2025.

    Per the American Disabilities Act and the Language Access Ordinance, Chinese, Spanish, and/or American Sign Language interpreters will be available upon request. Additionally, every effort will be made to provide a sound enhancement system, meeting materials in alternative formats, and/or a reader. Minutes may be translated after they have been adopted by the Commission. For all these requests, please contact Commission Secretary Manraj Dhaliwal at least 48 hours before the meeting at 415-252-2247, manraj.dhaliwal@sfgov.org. Late requests will be honored if possible. The meeting room is wheelchair accessible.

    1. Agenda items will normally be heard in order. Please note, that on occasion a special circumstance may necessitate that an agenda item be taken out of order. To ensure that an agenda item is not missed, it is advised to arrive at the beginning of the meeting. All agenda changes will be announced by the Chair at the top of the meeting. 

    2. Public comment will be taken before or during the Committee’s consideration of each agenda item. Each speaker will be allowed to speak for the time allotted by the Chair at the top of the meeting or up to three (3) minutes.  

    3. During General Public Comment, members of the public may address the Commissioners on matters that are within the Arts Commission’s jurisdiction and are not on the agenda. 

    4. Persons who spoke during the public comment period at a meeting of the Arts Commission may supply a brief written summary of the comments to be included in the minutes if it is 150 words or less. The Arts Commission may reject the summary if it exceeds the prescribed word limit or is not an accurate summary of the speaker’s public comment.

    5. Persons unable to attend an Arts Commission meeting may submit correspondence to the Arts Commission in connection with an agenda item. The Commission Secretary will post these documents adjacent to the agenda if they are one page in length. If they are longer than one page, the Arts Commission will make such documents available for public inspection and copying. Please note, correspondence submitted to the Arts Commission will NOT be read aloud during the meeting. Names and addresses included in these submittals will be public. Submittals may be made anonymously. Written comments pertaining to this meeting should be submitted to art-info@sfgov.org.
