Visit the Large Vehicle Program Outcomes Dashboard to track key program metrics, including permits issued, citations, tows, housing placements, and voluntary buybacks since the start of citywide two-hour parking enforcement. Updated regularly, the dashboard shows where enforcement activities are occurring and highlights progress toward reducing vehicular homelessness.

Are you currently living in a Large Vehicle?
If you were living in a large vehicle on the streets of San Francisco on May 31, 2025, you may qualify for a Large Vehicle Refuge Permit, Housing Programs, Vehicle Buyback, and Relocation Assistance.
- You must be experiencing vehicular homelessness.
- Your vehicle must be listed in the City’s Large Vehicle Database.

Reporting Large Vehicle Issues
To report unpermitted vehicles violating the 2-hour parking (7.2.54) law using the 311 system:
- Open the 311 app, website (311 online services | SF.gov), or call by dialing 311.
- Take a picture and/or describe the issue
- When prompted to select a service, select ‘Blocked driveway & illegal parking’
- Drop a pin at the location of the vehicle
- On the Category field of the Additional Details page select ‘Large Vehicle – Two-Hour Parking’
- Enter information to describe the vehicle if possible
- Under Vehicle Type select the type of vehicle from the drop down.
- Confirm your contact information
- Finally, confirm the details and submit your ticket.
To report large vehicles for non-parking related issues:
- Open the 311 app, website (311 online services | SF.gov), or call by dialing 311.
- Select ‘Submit a new report’
- Take a picture and/or describe the issue and note that the issue is related to a large vehicle
- When prompted to select a service, select whichever service is applicable to the issue
- Drop a pin on the location of the issue
- Provide additional details if required
- Confirm your contact information
- Confirm and submit the report by clicking ‘Submit’
City's Strategy to Address Vehicular Homelessness
The legislation addressing vehicular homelessness under Mayor Daniel Lurie’s Breaking the Cycle plan was passed on July 22, 2025. It will help hundreds of families living in vehicles access stable housing, reduce and prevent RV and vehicular homelessness, and reclaim public spaces for communities across the city.
