Directions from the South Bay:
Take U.S. 101 north towards San Francisco. Take the U.S. 101 North/Duboce Ave./Mission Street exit. Keep right at the fork in the ramp. Turn Right onto Mission Street. Turn slight left onto Van Ness Ave. Turn right onto McAllister, right onto Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place.
Directions from the East Bay:
Take Interstate 580. Exit onto Interstate 80 West towards San Francisco, After crossing the Bay Bridge, take at the 9th Street/Civic Center exit. Keep right at the fork in the ramp. Turn left onto Harrison Street, then turn right onto 9th Street. Turn slight left onto Hayes Street, then turn right onto Van Ness Ave. Turn right onto McAllister, right onto Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place.
Directions from the North Bay:
Take U.S. 101 south towards San Francisco. Cross the Golden Gate Bridge, and merge onto U.S. 101 South (Lombard Street). Turn right at the intersection of Lombard and Van Ness, onto Van Ness Ave. Turn left onto McAllister, right onto Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place.

The Civic Center is at the intersection of major east-west and north-south routes in San Francisco.
There is metered parking on the streets surrounding City Hall. Please be aware of permit-only parking and no parking signs due to events.
There are many parking lots in the Civic Center area. The closest and most convenient to City Hall is the Civic Center Garage with entrances on McAllister and Larkin Streets. This is an underground garage that opens to the Civic Center Plaza across from City Hall.

The Civic Center is easily accessible by public transit. Information and trip planning for the entire San Francisco Bay Area can be found online at 511.org or by dialing “511” from any Bay Area county (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma).
Muni Bus Lines and Metro Subway
Muni bus lines serving the Civic Center include Bus Numbers: 5-Fulton, 21-Hayes, 31-Balboa, 47-Van Ness, and 49-Van Ness/Mission. Other lines, such as the F streetcar line, that travel along Market Street make several stops from Eighth Street to Van Ness Avenue.
The Muni Metro Subway includes all lines (J, K, L, M, N) serving both the Civic Center and Van Ness Stations. For up-to-date route and schedule information contact Muni at (415) 701-2311 or dial 311 within San Francisco.
Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART)

Sam Trans runs many buses from the South Bay. Cal Train riders may call 800-660-4287 for service information.
East Bay:
From the East Bay riders can take AC Transit (dial 511 anywhere in the Bay Area) to the Transbay Terminal, on Mission Street between First and Fremont streets, and transfer to Muni lines such as the No. 5 Bus.
