Joe Tasby

Joe knows and loves San francisco, having been raised here. He has long experience working with the unhoused, understands their needs, and empathizes with the challenges they face. He has worked offering counselling to families and youth. He also has lived experience, and knows first-hand that navigating the shelter system and staying positive during the "housing journey" is hard, and inevitably entails many frustrations. In December of 2024, he was appointed to Seat 1 of the SMC.
