Welcome and Introductions
General Public Comment
Members of the public may comment generally for up to three minutes on matters within the Task Force’s purview but not on today’s agenda. The Brown Act prohibits the Task Force from taking action or discussing any item not appearing on the agenda, including those items raised at public comment.
Elect Chair and Vice Chair (Action Item)
Task Force members may elect officers.
Proposition E Task Force Powers, Duties, and Procedures (Discussion Item)
The City Attorney’s Office will present information about the Task Force’s powers and duties under the Charter, as well as rules regarding open government, ethics, and meeting procedures.
Commissions subject to Prop. E review (Discussion Item)
Task Force members may discuss the type of information about City commissions that the Task Force would like to receive to facilitate discussions at future meetings. As background, commissioners may elect to review the list of City bodies established under local law (last updated by the City Attorney’s Office in November 2024) and a May 2024 memorandum summarizing the boards and commissions with Mayoral appointments.
Future Meeting Schedule (Action Item)
Task Force members will determine when meetings will be regularly scheduled.
Future Agenda Topics (Discussion Item)
Task Force members may discuss topics for future meeting agendas, including processes for outreach and information-gathering.
