Treasure/Yerba Buena Islands July 4th, 2024 Community Advisory

Increase in visitors and traffic is anticipated for San Francisco fireworks show viewing.

An increase in visitors to Treasure and Yerba Buena Islands are expected on Thursday July 4, 2024 for viewing the San Francisco Fireworks Show.  The Island community should expect increased vehicle traffic on all roads leading on and off the Islands.

Plan extra time when traveling on and off the Islands on this day.  Parking and traffic flaggers and SFMTA Parking Control Officers will assist with traffic control.

The public should anticipate increased San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) presence on Treasure and Yerba Buena Islands on July 4th.  A1 Protective Services will be patrolling the Islands as well and can be reached at 415-760-0406 to report suspicious activity.

For emergencies, dial 911.

Private use of any and all fireworks on-Island is prohibited at all times. Violators will be cited.

Be safe when celebrating the 4th!

Special information for Island residents/businesses:

It is anticipated that the SFPD may limit access onto the Islands on July 4th prior to the Fireworks Show in the interest of public safety.  Passes are available for residents/commercial tenants to display in the windshield of their vehicle to gain access to the Islands in the event of a closure.

Passes are now available for distribution.  Residents will pick-up the vehicle passes from their residential property manager agency, commercial tenants will contact TIDA to receive their vehicle passes.
