SFUSD Employees: How to find your Job Code for your affordable housing application.

San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) employees.

Why you need your Job Code

If you apply for Shirley Chisholm Village on DAHLIA San Francisco Housing Portal, your Job Code will be used to verify that you work at SFUSD. It will also help determine your ranking in the housing lottery. 

SFUSD educators will rank highest in the lottery, followed by other district employees.  

SFUSD educators include people who work as teachers, early education teachers, paraeducators, and pupil services employees. See detailed definitions.

If you have more than 1 job:

  • If 1 of your jobs is as an SFUSD educator, use that Job Code on your application. 
  • If you do not work as an educator, use any Job Code. 

What to do

1. Log in to EMPowerSF.

2. Go to the Quick Actions menu. 

3. Select My Profile. 

EMPowerSF screen shows a menu called Quick Actions. The menu has 4 large buttons. From left-to-right, the buttons read: My Profile, Org Chart, Reminders, and Favorites. The leftmost button, My Profile, is highlighted for emphasis.

4. Select Employment Information.

5. Scroll to the Job Information section.

6. Find Job Classification.

7. Find your Job Code. It is the 3 to 6 character code in parentheses to the right of your Job Classification. It may contain both letters and numbers.

Under Job Information, there is a list of fields. First is Employment Status, next is Job Classification. This is where you can find your Job Code. It is in parentheses at the end of the 'Job Classification' line. It shows an example for someone who is an 'Eld Classroom Teacher'. Their Job Code is 0737.
