Fill out the sign permit form

You must fill out the form 4/7 to apply for a sign permit. Follow these instructions.

What to do

2. Check form 4 or 7

If you plan to build a sign, check 4.

If you plan to paint a sign or put up a non-structural sign, check 7.

3. Describe the building where you plan to put your sign

Include the building’s: 

  • Type of construction
  • Number of stories
  • Present use
  • Height (measuring the center of the front of building)
  • Estimated cost

Check the type of sign you plan to put up. You may check more than 1 box.

Sign description

Describe your sign, including its size, weight, and thickness.

Illumination

If you plan to illuminate your sign, check which method of illumination you will use.

Street space use

Tell us if you plan to use any street space during construction of your sign.

Purpose

Tell us the purpose of your sign.

People

Provide contact information for people who will help design or construct your sign. This may include contractors, architects, construction lenders, or building owners.

Plot plan and elevation

Include the plot plan and elevation drawings from your sign plans.

5. Sign your application form

6. Submit your application to the Permit Center

After you have completed the application, print 2 copies of the application on double-sided legal (8.5” by 14”) paper.

Bring it to the Permit Center to submit your application.
