Community Challenge Grants Focus Group - March 26 evening

Provide input on the Community Challenge Grants Program

Staff are refreshing the Community Challenge Grants (CCG) Program. We invite community members to attend a focus group*. Learn about the program and provide input to make it more responsive to community needs.

CCG provides grant funds to nonprofit organizations for neighborhood-generated improvement projects. The program is an important tool for building resilient San Francisco communities. CCG has funded community-led projects that:

  • Enhance San Francisco's beauty with street maintenance and graffiti abatement;
  • Create community gathering or open space areas;
  • Improve streetscape design;
  • Increase urban greening and agriculture;
  • Create and install public art or other amenities that beautify the neighborhood.

During this 90-minute meeting, we will:

  • Share background on the program;
  • Outline components in recent requests for proposals (RFP);
  • Break into small groups to discuss community strengths, neighborhood needs, and experiences applying to a previous RFP.

Please register so you arrive prepared for the conversation.

*This is one of several focus groups. Staff will provide and collect the same information at each. We encourage organizations to register for one focus group only.
