8th Annual Yerba Buena Island Bioblitz
Explore Yerba Buena Island with local naturalists and identify and photograph flora, fauna, and fungi using the iNaturalist app.
Join TIDA, San Francisco Environment and the California Academy of Sciences for the 8th annual Yerba Buena Island (YBI) Bioblitz on Friday April 25th between 2:00 and 5:00 PM.
What's a Bioblitz?
We will explore YBI with local naturalists and identify and photograph flora, fauna, and fungi using the iNaturalist app. Our observations for the day are collected on the project page, can be viewed online by the global community and are incorporated into a worldwide database!
The event is free, open to the public, and is "drop-in/drop-out" anytime between 2P and 5P. An event orientation will take place at 2:00 PM at the Treasure Island Building One Lobby. Printed event maps and information will also remain available in the lobby between 2P and 5P for late arrivals.
Visit iNaturalist.org for more info and download the app on your smartphone before the bioblitz. No smartphone? No problem! We'll team you up with a local naturalist!
