COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations are rising dramatically in San Francisco and all over the country. SF rolled back some reopenings to slow down COVID-19 transmission.
Indoor dining is no longer allowed
The suspension includes indoor dining at:
- Restaurants
- Shopping mall food courts
- Hotels
- Museums, zoos, and aquariums
- Gyms
- Office cafeterias
Takeout and outdoor dining are still allowed. See guidance about operating a restaurant.
Gyms and movie theaters can operate indoors at 25% capacity, up to 50 people per room
Before, up to 100 people per room was allowed.
Everyone must wear a face covering, and keep them on.

High school reopening approvals are paused
High schools that were already reopened can stay open. Any high schools that have not yet reopened should not reopen, even if they were approved.
