Dr. Ben Tran

Dr. Ben Tran is the District Operations Support (DOS) Manager with the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR), San Francisco District. Dr. Tran is thelead on the Self Service Computer Workstation [formerly known the Kiosk Project (SSCW)], Vocational Rehabilitation Connection (VRC) Portal, CalDOR Payment Card (CPC), and the District Case Closure Task Force, and responsible for the District New Staff Training Academy. Prior to his current role, Dr. Tran has held the following roles: Job Developer (certified bilingual), Assistive Technology Instructor, Academic Counselor (certified bilingual) and Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, Qualified Rehabilitation Professional [(SVRC-QRP) certified bilingual with an emphasis on mental health, physical, and the LGBTQIA+ populations].

With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Tran’s manuscripts are published in academic peer-reviewed journals and book chapters on topics of industrial and organizational psychology, workforce development, gender, disability, equality inclusion, ethics, and business ethics. Dr. Tran has presented at domestic and international conferences on these topics. Dr. Tran supervises the district operations team, supervised the Contract Administrator, and directly supervises the District Operations Support – Staff Services Analyst (DOS-SSA), the Supervising Program Technician II (SPTII), the Community Resource Navigator (CRN), and collaborates with the Regional Director (RD) and the District Administrator (DA) in handling the operations of the San Francisco District.

Dr. Ben Tran received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Speech Communication (with an emphasis in Organizational Communication/Public Relations), his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and his minor in Sociology from California State University, Hayward (CSUH). His Master of Arts (M.A.) and his Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Organizational Psychology are from California School of Professional Psychology [(CSPP) now known as Alliant International University].
