Meeting Schedule

Full Reentry Council: Meets quarterly at 1pm on the 3rd Thursday (January, April, July, October)

Direct Action Subcommittee: Meets on the 1st Thursday of even months at 1:00pm

Legislation, Policy, & Practices Subcommittee: Meets on the 4th Wednesday, every other month at 2:30pm

Women 1st Subcommittee: Meets on the 1st Monday, even Months at 12:00pm

Friday, September 18, 2026, signup now! 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. | Doors open at 7:30 a.m. Saint Mary’s Cathedral Event Center | 1111 Gough Street, San Francisco, CA 94109 Opening Doors to New Beginnings The Reentry Conference and Expo is an in person gathering that offers workshops, panel discussions, and a resource fair designed to support people returning from incarceration, survivors of violence, and those who serve them. Participants connect directly with service providers offering employment support, housing assistance, education pathways, legal help, health services, and faith based accompaniment. Centering community voices and fostering collaboration, this event highlights practical tools and resources that help transform survival into stability and new healing opportunities for people impacted by incarceration and violence. Who Should Attend Justice-involved youth and adults; families with incarcerated loved ones, crime survivors, non-profit providers, advocates, volunteers working with incarcerated people; law enforcement professionals, probation and corrections staff; victim services; educational; religious and social institutions; Department of Justice agencies; health services; housing, 2nd chance employers and legal rights organizations. About

The purpose of the Reentry Council of the City & County of San Francisco is to coordinate local efforts to support adults exiting San Francisco County Jail, San Francisco juvenile justice out-of-home placements, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation facilities, and the United States Federal Bureau of Prison facilities. The Council coordinates information sharing, planning, and engagement among all interested private and public stakeholders to the extent permissible under federal and state law.

Apply to be a Mayoral Appointee to the Reentry Council!

There are 7 members of the Reentry Council that must be former inmates of the San Francisco County Jail, a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation facility, and/or a United States Bureau of Prison facility. The Mayor appoints three of these seven members. Of these three members, at least one must be between the ages of 18 to 24 at the time of appointment, and at least one must have expertise in providing services to individuals exiting the criminal justice system. We are now recruiting Mayoral Appointments for the 2025 - 2027 term.Apply here!
