The Reentry Council coordinates local efforts to support justice-involved and formerly incarcerated people.

Meetings

Meeting Schedule

Full Reentry Council: Meets quarterly at 10am on the 3rd Thursday (January, April, July, October)

Direct Action Subcommittee: Meets on the 1st Thursday of even months at 1:00pm

Legislation, Policy, & Practices Subcommittee: Meets on the 4th Wednesday, every other month at 2:30pm

Women 1st Subcommittee: Meets on the 1st Monday, even Months at 12:00pm

Participate in Meetings

Anyone can attend and speak at Full Reentry Council meetings or Subcommittee meetings. 

If you can't come in person, you can email Victoria Westbrook before the meeting. We will read your comment.

Reentry Council Seat Vacancies

Must Apply by Wednesday 8/16/2023 at 12:00pm

The following seats are available:

Mayoral Appointed Seats:

Seat 1: 

  • Must be formerly incarcerated in the San Francisco County Jail, a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation facility, and/or a United States Federal Bureau of Prisons facility; and also have expertise in providing services to individuals exiting the criminal justice system.

Seat 2: 

  • Must be formerly incarcerated in the San Francisco County Jail, a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation facility, and/or a United States Federal Bureau of Prisons facility.

Seat 3: 

  • Must be formerly incarcerated in the San Francisco County Jail, a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation facility, and/or a United States Federal Bureau of Prisons facility; and must be between the ages of 18 to 35, at the time of appointment and have been a person incarcerated before the age of 24.

  • Bio should include the Seat(s) you are applying for, prior incarceration(s), where you currently live and work, and why you want to be on the Reentry Council.

Board of Supervisors Appointed Seat:

Seat 6: 

  • Must be a representative of an entity or agency primarily responsible for administering pretrial services involving alternatives to incarceration in San Francisco.

About

The purpose of the Reentry Council of the City & County of San Francisco is to coordinate local efforts to support adults exiting San Francisco County Jail, San Francisco juvenile justice out-of-home placements, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation facilities, and the United States Federal Bureau of Prison facilities. The Council coordinates information sharing, planning, and engagement among all interested private and public stakeholders to the extent permissible under federal and state law.
