Exciting 2025 Conference Season for Moscone Center!

Moscone Center is set to host at least 30 events in 2025, marking a significant recovery for San Francisco’s premier convention facility. Hotel room nights associated with these events are forecast to increase by 59%, jumping from 400,000 this year to 659,700 in 2025. This year alone, 22 new bookings have been secured for Moscone Center to host conferences during the next five years that are projected to bring over $595 million in direct economic impact to San Francisco.

A highlight in the coming year is Microsoft Ignite, a leading technology conference that will make its San Francisco debut in November 2025 and is expected to generate $41.5 million in direct spending and over 61,000 hotel room stays.

The events hosted at Moscone Center play a critical role in boosting the local economy and support small businesses, restaurants, cultural institutions, and hotels. Upcoming conferences like the NBA All-Star Game, the Pokémon World Championship, and Super Bowl LX solidify Moscone Center’s reputation as a world-class venue for conventions and exhibitions.

Stay Safe, Celebrate Bright: Your Holiday Safety Checklist

SFPD Safe Shopping Tips!

Shop safely this holiday season.

The SFPD is working hard to keep you safe. During every holiday season, SFPD increases patrols and traffic enforcement in commercial districts. But wherever and whenever you go shopping, you can also do a lot to help protect yourself and your property.

Remember these tips:

  • It is easy to get distracted while shopping. Try to keep your eyes ahead of you and not on your phone.
  • Keep your keys in your hand while approaching your car.
  • Keep your wallet in a hard-to-reach place and don’t carry excess cash.
  • If someone demands your purse, wallet, or packages, hand them over. Property can be replaced!
  • Just make a note of the suspect’s description and where they are heading and call 9-1-1
  • “If you see something, say something.” If you witness criminal activity or see something or someone suspicious, flag down a police or security officer or call 9-1-1.
  • Shop with a friend whenever possible, especially after dark.
  • Stay alert while using ATMs or other electronic devices in public. Don’t let anyone else see your PIN and make sure to close out all transactions before you walk away from a teller machine.

Most importantly, Park Smart! Use parking lots with attendants whenever possible and avoid car break-ins by taking all your valuables with you, from small items such as cellphones to big ones, including backpacks. Don’t assume your possessions are safe in your car trunk – thieves are watching.

Did You Feel It? Recent Earthquake and Tornado Warning Highlight the Need for Disaster Preparedness

Two weeks ago, a powerful 7.0 earthquake shook the West Coast, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a Tsunami Warning and send a Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) urging the public to evacuate coastal areas. Just last week, we faced a Tornado Warning following high winds and heavy rain.

These recent alerts serve as a powerful reminder that while rare, natural disasters can happen, and preparation is key.

San Francisco has updated its tsunami maps to help you stay prepared. Visit SF72.org/hazard/tsunamis to learn more.

Stay informed, stay safe, and take this as your reminder to get tsunami ready.

For critical updates during emergencies, tune in to KCBS Radio on 740 AM or 106.9 FM and check local TV stations. Sign up for text alerts through AlertSF by texting your zip code to 888-777. Follow San Francisco agencies like @SF_Emergency for real-time news and guidance during major incidents.
