Located in the Fillmore district, In The Black Shop will be bringing people together with live performances, hands-on workshops that highlight Black culture, and a chance to meet local vendors offering unique products. It’s all about connecting, celebrating, and honoring the rich history and contributions of the Black community.

Black Wellness Expo: Cancer Awareness, Music, Food & Fashion Show

Art spotlight

MLK Yerba Buena Monument

The Martin Luther King Jr. Fountain was created in 1993 and is located at Yerba Buena Gardens here in San Francisco. As the second oldest MLK Memorial in the United States, it features twelve shimmering glass panels placed behind a 50-foot-wide, 20-foot-high waterfall. The panels are engraved with quotes from Dr. King's writings and speeches in English with a translation in the African and Arabic dialects and the languages of San Francisco's Sister Cities.

Discover the Monument Honoring Dr. Maya Angelou

Celebrate the legacy of Dr. Maya Angelou with the stunning "Portrait of a Phenomenal Woman" monument, located at the main branch of the San Francisco Public Library. The monument was created as part of San Francisco’s initiative to increase female representation in public spaces and honor Dr. Maya Angelou’s groundbreaking contributions to literature, civil rights, and equality.

African American Arts & Culture Complex Western Addition

Located in the historic Fillmore/Western Addition neighborhood, the African American Art & Culture Complex (AAACC) is a vibrant hub celebrating Black arts and culture. The AAACC features galleries showcasing African Diaspora art, a 206-seat theater for performances, and space for community events.
