7327 | 7331 Apprentice Maintenance Machinist

The Apprentice Maintenance Machinist works under the immediate supervision of a qualified journey-level Maintenance Machinist, learning the operation, repair and maintenance of various manual machine tools, Computer Numeric Control (CNC) machine tools, machinery, and equipment through diversified experience in on-the-job training, classroom instruction, and other related instruction in order to become a fully skilled craftsman. 7463 | 7464 Utility Plumber Apprentice

The Utility Plumber classification includes class 7463 and 7464. The Utility Plumber Apprentice works under direct supervision of a qualified journey level Utility Plumber during the apprenticeship required by the trade, learning the operation, repair and maintenance of water mains, pipes, meters, fire hydrants, gates and valves. 7465 | 7466 General Plumber Apprentice

Under immediate supervision of a qualified journey level Plumber, the General Plumber Apprentice performs apprentice work by assisting in the installation, alteration, repair and maintenance of water, sewer, and other plumbing systems. 7501 General Laborer Apprentice

The General Laborer Apprentice is an entry-level classification which performs assisting in the removal of debris from construction, maintenance, wrecking, or repair work; assisting in the loading and unloading of materials, supplies, furniture, and equipment; learning to work as part of a crew with other crafts; and learning to operate various types of equipment and machinery including pneumatic and hand tools associated with general construction. 9916 Public Service Aide - Public Works

The positions in the Public Service Aide series are designed to offer various types of trainee or entry level employment opportunities in a variety of settings. These positions provide an introduction to career options and role models while allowing incumbents to learn about the work environment. Some positions may be allocated for participants in special programs designed to reach disadvantaged youth, those who have encountered difficulty in obtaining employment, or other special populations. 9940 Pre-Apprentice Automotive Mechanic

The 9940 Pre-Apprentice Automotive Mechanic performs semi-skilled trainee work designed to introduce career options and role models in connection with the operation, maintenance and repair of automotive vehicles. As part of a Pre-Apprenticeship program, incumbents learn about the work environment, required skilled mechanical work, and real-life experience to help them find employment as an apprentice and eventually as a journey mechanic.

18 week training program, teaches basic technical and job-readiness skills to prepare participants for a IAM Local 1414 Registered Apprenticeship for the Automotive Mechanic, Auto Body Painter, or Body and Fender Repairer.
