Back by popular demand, Drag Me Downtown is returning for its second year! This series of fierce pop-up drag shows will take over a new business in downtown San Francisco every Thursday throughout the month of June. Featuring an exciting lineup of Bay Area drag performers, this sequin studded series supports local businesses while also serving as a fabulous reminder that all are welcome in downtown San Francisco! Drag Me Downtown is produced in partnership with Bobby Friday, the creative force behind Haus of Friday.
Drag Me Downtown is free to attend, however pre-registered attendees are guaranteed 2024 Pride Swag. Pre-registration is $10.
All pre-registration proceeds benefit The Transgender District, the first legally recognized transgender district in the world. Originally named after the first documented uprising of transgender and queer people in United States history, the Compton’s Cafeteria Riots of 1966, the district encompasses 6 blocks in the southeastern Tenderloin and crosses over Market Street to include two blocks of 6th street.
In addition to weekly pop-up drag shows, 2024's event will feature a Queer History Bus Tour and Sing-Along, hosted by Sister Roma of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and historian Shayne Watson on Thursday, June 27th from 3:30 PM - 5 PM, before the final Drag Me Downtown performance.
