Save the Date: SFMTA's process for blue zones and SF Fellows' report on feasibility of Electric Wheelchair Charging Stations, Mayor’s Disability Council Meeting on April 19, 2024

Dear Disability Community Members: The Mayor’s Disability Council (MDC) announces the upcoming public meeting agenda items for April 19, 2024. Please save the date and spread the word to others who may want to learn more.

Friday, April 19, 2024 (1 pm - 4 pm)

  • Item 1: How blue zones (accessible parking spaces) are tracked, sited, designed, and publicized. The processes of updating the blue zone database, publicly sharing the location of blue zones, analyzing existing blue zone distribution, and planning new blue zone locations. Also, I learned how the SFMTA intakes new requests for blue zones and how blue zones are being added as part of city-wide projects.

     

  • Item 2: The San Francisco City Fellows program, in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office on Disability, will report on their 10-week project that explored the feasibility of installing electric wheelchair charging stations in San Francisco public spaces.
