About us
The mission of the San Francisco Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Program is to prevent, control, and finally eliminate tuberculosis in San Francisco by providing compassionate, equitable, and supportive care of the highest quality to all persons affected by this disease.
The San Francisco Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Section provides tuberculosis medical care through the San Francisco Tuberculosis Clinic, public health guidance and technical assistance, and conducts TB prevention and control activities for the City and County of San Francisco.
The San Francisco Tuberculosis Clinic provides treatment to all people with active tuberculosis (TB) who live in San Francisco. Our clinic is staffed by infectious disease and pulmonary expert providers, fellows, and residents from the San Francisco Department of Public Health; University of California, San Francisco; and the California Department of Public Health.
Every San Francisco resident diagnosed with active TB is case managed by our experienced TB Nurse Case Managers. In addition to providing care and case management for active TB patients, TB Clinic provides expert consultation, guidance and recommendations about latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) screening, diagnosis, and treatment. We also provide care to folks with complicated LTBI.
