Toye Moses
Commissioner

Toye Moses is the President and CEO of Global Konnect Company, a community relations firm that specializes in outreach and community development in San Francisco, with a special emphasis on collaborative planning processes. A resident of San Francisco since 1974, originally hailed from Nigeria and arrived in the USA in 1965.
Toye has given generously of his spirit, expertise and time to many community organizations. He has always been interested in promoting social justice and immigrant rights as civil rights. He has received numerous awards and commendations for his public service leadership in health, civic and political arenas.
Community Experience
He is a member of the San Francisco Juvenile Probation Commission, a board member of the African American Chamber of Commerce, a member of the UCSF/Mission Bay Community Advisory Group, a board member of the San Francisco NAACP, and Vice-President of the Community Design Center. He was president and co-founder of the African American Democratic Club, president and co-founder of the Willie B Kennedy Democratic Club, past President of the Rotary Club of San Francisco Bayview, and past President of the S.F. African American Historical and Cultural Society.
Professional Experience
He served as the Founding Executive Director of the City & County of San Francisco Southeast Community Facility Commission, which is dedicated to improving the economy and healthcare in the Bayview Hunter’s Point area, for 24 years and retired in 2016. He is a past Executive Director of Young Community Developers, which he continues to serve as a Board member.
He was also the Director of Liberation House, an outpatient and recovery home for alcoholic and drug abusers in the Western Addition for eight years. He previously served as a consultant for the Bayview-Hunter’s Point Methadone program, and was a mental health provider with Forensic Jail Psychiatric Services at San Francisco County Jail.
He previously served as a commissioner on the Immigrant Rights Commission and the Delinquency Prevention Commission and the SF Mental Health Board (now the Behavioral Health Commission). He also served on the boards of the Henry Ohlhoff Board of Governors, San Francisco Planning & Urban Research (SPUR), the Black Leadership Forum, and the SF Economic Opportunity Council.
Education
Toye Moses holds a Doctoral degree and a Master’s Degree in Public Mental/Health Education. He attended the University of Colorado, Colorado Mesa University. San Jose State University ,the University of San Francisco and the California College of Podiatry Medicine.
Professional Affiliations
He has been an active member of the American Public Health Association for the past 44 years, and is also a member of the Forensic Mental Health Association of California.
