Edward Battista

Edward (Ed) Battista serves as the Vice President of Human Resources for Sutter Health, responsible for San Francisco and North Bay Area Hospitals. Sutter Health's not-for-profit system provides comprehensive medical services in more than 100 Northern CA communities and employs over 50,000.

Prior to joining Sutter, Ed worked for seven years for HCA at several hospitals in its California market, most recently as VP, HR. HCA is a leading hospital operator with over 165 hospitals in the U.S.

Prior to HCA, Ed served as HR Director at Mee Memorial Health System in California.

Ed has 10 years' experience as a HR healthcare executive and over 20 years in HR management. He earned his M.B.A. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his B.S. in Labor and Industrial Relations from Cornell University. Ed holds certifications from the Human Resource Certification Institute in California specific human resources law (SPHR-CA) and global human resources (GPHR).
