Dan Bernal

Commissioner Bernal is Chief of Staff in San Francisco for Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi. He has dedicated his career to public service, having served in the White House under President Bill Clinton and as a presidential appointee at the U.S. Department of Education. As Congress debated the Affordable Care Act, he supported Speaker Pelosi’s efforts to build support for the legislation in California by convening diverse stakeholders and coordinating activities among Bay Area Members of Congress. He continues to serve as a valuable resource to the California Democratic Congressional Delegation, key policy makers, and advocates in the fight to protect and improve the Affordable Care Act.. He was appointed to the Health Commission in 2017.
