Anthony Schlander was appointed to the Neighborhood Representative seat of the San Francisco Entertainment Commission in March 2024.

A native San Franciscan, Schlander brings a wealth of knowledge and experience working at the intersection of entertainment, nightlife, and community. He began organizing events in 2003 and cultivated a passion for bringing diverse groups of people together and creating meaningful experiences and connections. In 2009, he founded Anthony Presents LLC – a boutique event production firm – and has since produced and promoted over 4,000 events in SF, from intimate social gatherings and workshops to major concerts and festivals. Through his work collaborating with SF musicians, venues, small businesses, corporations, and nonprofits, he is most energized by incorporating live music into his events as a way to encourage shared, joyful experiences and to celebrate the unique character of our city.

Schlander remains committed to engaging and supporting the local community for the greater good. He has been deeply involved in producing charity events throughout his career, supporting various San Francisco-based nonprofit organizations that focus on feeding, clothing, and providing scholarships to under-resourced communities. In addition, he has provided guidance to hundreds of local small businesses, including food vendors and small goods producers, helping them launch and grow their brands through strategic event planning and collaboration.

As the Entertainment Commission’s Neighborhood Representative, his primary focus is to actively listen to and address the needs and concerns of residents, and identify strategies that promote coexistence between residents and entertainment venues and events. He is dedicated to serving as a voice for residents and finding solutions that strike the right balance between neighborhood compatibility and a responsible, vibrant entertainment and nightlife scene.
