► Updated RTW Guidelines (11.09.22):
ZSFG Employee Health COVID-19 Infection Control Interim Guidance for Employee Working on Campus - Updates guidance for influenza season. Includes changes related to rapid NAAT rapid testing for mildly symptomatic employees who are scheduled to work and protocol for shortening isolation for employees who are taking immunosuppressive medications. We anticipate ongoing adjustments as we review our data, evidence-based guidelines and patient and staff safety. 

 

► COVID-19 Symptoms: Employees with any one of these symptoms should call 628-206-4100 to be tested for COVID-19.

  • Fever (Temp >37.8°C / 100.0°F)
  • Pleuritic chest pain
  • Shortness of breath
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Body Aches
  • Fatigue
  • Diarrhea
  • Headache
  • Chills
  • Loss of sense of smell or taste
  • Sinus Congestion
  • Sneezing or runny nose different from your allergies

► How to Schedule Testing Appointments for COVID-19 Testing at OHS Trailer: 

  1. Call 628-206-4100 or use our screener for a pre-appointment evaluation. Hours are 6:30-4 PM, Monday-Sunday
  2. An occupational health clinician will interview you over the phone to ensure that you meet the employee testing criteria. 
  3. Arrive at the testing center (trailer in the Building 4 / Avon Breast Center parking lot) a few minutes prior to your appointment time, if possible. Please maintain a 6-foot distance from each other.

► Asymptomatic Testing

At this time any asymptomatic healthcare employee without significant COVID-19 exposures who wishes to be tested for COVID-19 infection has the option of being tested by appointment at one of two CityTestSF centers without charge (see https://sf.gov/get-tested-covid-19-citytestsf). A physician referral for testing is not necessary.

OHS provides required outbreak testing and surveillance testing to high-risk units (e.g. 4A) in accordance to infection control and regulatory policies.  The OHS team may support testing for employees without symptoms or exposures only as capacity allows, including pre- and post-travel. 

For UCSF staff: Asymptomatic employees of the UCSF community can drop in and show their UCSF identification badge to get a Color test kit at a UCSF Color Test Site, including at ZSFG.  All Employees working on ZSFG campus who experience symptoms, high-risk exposures and new diagnoses should continue to contact Occupational Health Services to ensure appropriate assessment, testing and work status.  Check here for more information about pick-up and/or drop-off locations and hours

Asymptomatic individuals who choose to be tested should realize:

  1. Asymptomatic individuals who test positive are required to report the result to OHS@sfdph.org.
  2. Asymptomatic individuals who test positive must be off work and self-quarantine, reporting to OHS before they can return to work.
