Can a Medical Examiner case still be an organ or tissue donor?
Yes. If your loved one died in a hospital and is eligible for donation, a hospital staff member will approach your family and provide information. Our local organ and tissue procurement organization is Donor Network West. We maintain regular contact with them and they are familiar with our process. While we approve most donation requests, there are rare exceptions where limits may be placed due to the nature of the death or law enforcement involvement.
