What to do

Mediators for the Department of Accountability (DPA) come from diverse backgrounds. They have experience mediating a range of issues. 

Mediators are unpaid volunteers. They have 40-hour mediator training certification.

Mediator training

We train all of our mediators on diversity, inclusion, and equity. Cultural differences affect how people communicate and handle conflict. 

We all have attitudes and biases. Training helps mediators recognize and manage their own views during the mediation process.
