SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Our long-standing goal at Laguna Honda Hospital (LHH) has always been to maintain the highest standard of patient care. In the past year and a half, we have worked tirelessly to make the improvements and sustained changes necessary to be recertified in the Medicare and Medicaid Provider programs overseen by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
LHH has made the facility-wide improvements necessary to improve resident care and safety and has made significant changes to meet all regulatory requirements. CMS set extremely rigorous requirements and timelines for the LHH team and we have met every requirement. Based on this progress, LHH applied for recertification in the Medicaid Provider program on August 11. More than 95% of patient care is supported by the Medicaid Provider program. If our application is approved, we will once again be certified as Medicaid provider. The California Departments of Public Health and Health Care Services will now review the application and determine next steps.
Throughout the recertification process, we have remained dedicated to our residents. Their health, safety, and wellbeing are our top priority. We remain confident that Laguna Honda is the best place for our residents to receive care.
Laguna Honda has been part of the fabric of San Francisco for more than 150 years. We are confident that, with continued efforts, we will emerge a far better Laguna Honda serving the public health needs of San Francisco for decades to come.
