SAN FRANCISCO, Wednesday, October 2, 2024 – The Department of Elections is opening its Voting Center on Monday, October 7. The Voting Center is available to all San Francisco voters to cast their ballots for the upcoming November 5 election.

From Monday, October 7, through Monday, November 4, the Voting Center will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the exception of Monday, October 14, which is Indigenous Peoples’ Day. The Voting Center will be open the two weekends—October 26-27 and November 2-3—between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. On Election Day, November 5, the Voting Center will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., which is the same hours that the City’s 501 local polling places will be open for voting.

The City Hall Voting Center, like all polling places in San Francisco, is designed to assist voters with a range of needs. At the Voting Center, eligible residents, including non-citizen residents eligible to vote in the Board of Education election, can register to vote, update their registration, pick up a replacement ballot, or vote in person. Voters have the option to mark and submit their ballots using paper, touchscreen, or audio methods.  For those who prefer curbside voting, assistance is available by calling (415) 554-4375 or sending a companion inside.

Additionally, local voters can choose to receive their official ballots in English and either Chinese, Filipino, or Spanish. Facsimile (reference) ballots are also offered in Burmese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Vietnamese. Furthermore, support in hundreds of languages will be readily available to ensure that every voter feels welcome and supported.

To encourage civic engagement, the City Hall Voting Center will feature several photo stations showcasing San Francisco’s “I Voted!” sticker. During the early voting period, voters are invited to take selfies at these stations and share their excitement about participating in the election across social media and their own platforms. Young visitors who are not yet eligible to vote can pose with an “I Am a Future Voter” sign, expressing their enthusiasm for voting in future elections.
