Citywide Affordable Housing Loan Committee meeting September 16, 2022

Maitri AIDS Hospice and Catholic Charities CYO are requesting modifications to the City’s existing loan agreements for their respective properties serving the HIV/AIDS community, Maitri Compassionate Care and Peter Claver Community. For Maitri, the requested modifications include converting a $833,000 Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS (HOPWA) loan to a forgivable loan, eliminating its required annual payment, forgiving any missed payments, and extending the affordability term 55 years. For Peter Claver, the requested modifications include extending the term of its $400,000 San Francisco Community Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program (CHRP)/CDBG loan to Peter Claver for 55 years and

making repayment forgivable, as well as extending the term of its $450,936 HOPWA loan for 55 years, making repayment forgivable, and forgiving its accrued interest. The loan modifications will promote the financial sustainability of the two properties and help preserve these critical resources for the HIV/AIDS community.
