Commission on the Status of Women Regular October Meeting

The Commission will review and possibly approve minutes from the regular Commission meeting on September 25, 2024.

Director Kimberly Ellis may discuss grant programs; core service area activities; meetings involving City leaders, agencies, and stakeholders; Department staff; past/upcoming events; and/or Department operations.

A. BLACK WOMEN REVOLT AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE GRANT AMENDMENT

Pursuant to Administrative Code Section 21G.8, the Commission will discuss and possibly adopt a resolution approving an amendment to a grant agreement with the Black Women Revolt Against Domestic Violence, fiscally sponsored by Young Community Developers Inc, increasing the grant by $200,000 for a total budget of $300,000.

B. PRESENTATION FROM THE GENDER EQUITY POLICY INSTITUTE (GEPI)

Nancy Cohen of the Gender Equity Policy Institute (GEPI) will give a full presentation on the Bay Area Abortions Rights Coalition Report. She will discuss its findings, and recommendations for next steps. GEPI representatives will also answer any questions related to the report.
